The native New Yorker is a bundle of infectious energy and we sat down with the make-up maverick to talk career, beauty must-haves and advice…
I Got My Start...
Working as a make-up artist for TV & Film. I found this great little place in New York which was retailing camera ready make-up as well as regular cosmetics and I suddenly realized how much I loved seeing how powerful make-up was – it can literally transform how someone feels. And so I wanted to create a brand that was approachable and not at all intimidating, products that everyone feels they can use.
My Big Break...
Came when I was approached by QVC. By putting me on TV I was able to reach millions of women rather than just one. And we’re now the number 1 colour brand of QVC so we must have done something right!
I'm Inspired By...
Real women. It’s the women using make-up every day that encourages me to keep making products that everyone can use, make you feel great and are multi-tasking!
My Typical Day...
Isn’t typical! It’s so varied. I could be doing anything from product development to looking at social media to see what women want. I’m always trying to create products that solve a problem.
My Signature Look...
Follows the 3 E’s rule – eyelash, eyebrow & eyeliner. I’m all about the eyes, enhancing them immediately opens up your face. I’m not a big follower of trends, I prefer enhancement to covering up.
My 'Baked' Products...
Are what we are known for. Years ago I got sent a baked product by a manufacturer and I subconsciously kept reaching for it and putting it on because it was so gorgeous. When QVC asked me to create something new I knew that I had to deliver this baked product to the mass market. They’re made in Italy in the same factory they always have been, are very natural and are a great multi-purpose product.

My Advice...
To those starting out in their careers is to love what you do! Have a thick skin and don’t ever think there is a finish line; there is always something you can aspire to.

Are other women in the beauty industry. I’ve always admired the likes of Estée Lauder and Helena Rubinstein, they were truly women before their time.
